Remote Starter Problem

Remote start works when the key is in the iginition and the engine is turned on and running. Remote start does not work when vehicle is not running. Where do I start to look to fix this?

Re: Remote Starter Problem

I would look at the power source of the remote start unit its self. Sounds like the system is getting power but only when the car ignition is in the run position. I would hotwire the system to constant 12v positive battery power, and if that fixes the prob then you gotta find a constantly powered source for the remote start system.

And actually if the car is running then the system shouldn't work. It should not be able to be activated.

i agree need to double check ur power sounds like u have a switchd power where u need a constant power source .. and also that vehicle has a factory anti theft think its pass lock 2 or 3 but with out a antitheft module it will not work either .. also check the in line fuses on the remote start module should have 2 poss 3 .. should be on the larger main wires in..
