Rossi in Faith - Ford Focus 2007 Monza Rally

This is one of my recent works for 2011.
It happened in May that I started the kit with the objective to get it done as simple as possible.
And after a serise of adjustments, that is becoming better mix of different ideas from here and there...
I am glad to share the progress with you guys again

As usual, I have the major parts of the kit test fitted together to see how well the plastic is.

I have sharpened a bit on the intake part on the roof.

And the panal lines on the dashboard is also retouched.

I have drilled holes at the lips of the front bumper to prepare space for the metal tuned parts to be fitted in.

For the injection marks on the chassis, there are too many of them. I have no alternatives but to cover them all up with thin plastic sheets.

The buckles were also replaced with resin replacement. The originals were just too awful....

The tools molded with the floor were actually cut off and enhanced. It will be located back to the new floor together with those for the injection mark coverings.

So with all the preparision works, it's time to start painting the body.

The Cartograf decals with the kit are so nice to work with. And this has been quite a long time since I work on a race car kit with decals!

And by the time I have settle with the decals, I just found that I missed the instruction to fill up some of the holes on the roof! This is a real madness for myself as it took me really risky move to get them all fixed.

The Thank God, I have it done probably with the great help of Gunze GX white paint!

After a couple of weeks, I have the kit clear coated and this time I worked with another 2K paint again.

For the moment the coating is being dried, I actually started working on the chassis. This time, I saw a Japanese master to work with preshading on his rally kit as well. So I replicated the move~~ haha~~

The result from Gunze GX white seems not matching the ride, so I end up de-tuned the contrast afterall...

Rollcage and the rest are painted as well.

And I have given it a bit of age on the chassis as I worked with the tanks as well.

There are different types of Carbon fibres inside the cockpit, I have worked with some SMS sheets and some from CM. They are surprisingly good and easy to work with.

I have added some rubber tubes at both end of the rollcage to replicate the texture and color at the same time.

Some highlights on the details in the cockpit

Some scratchbuilding exercises around the console so I have fill the space with more details and wires.

I have replaced the brake discs with the CM photo etchings. Some modification needed on the suspension side to accomodate the rims at the right position.

Some weathering slightly applied on the undercage.

And I have actually replicated a spare wheel from one of the four as the spare wheel at the back of the cockpit.

I started the polishing just yesterday and hopefully can finish this ride by the month.

Thanks for reading and welcome any comments.

Joey

Thanks bro~~
those brake discs if i remember correct ly is from Crazy Modelers.
I think they have seperate discs set for sales earlier but not very sure for now.
This should be one of those very very early releases from them and I just worked them out once I've got them. But God knows I have been working on some Fujimi kits all the way down (if not the bikes) so this is really the first time these discs are put into place....

A little further to the steps around the cockpit allows me to cover all up with the body~~ Haha~~
As soon as some further weathering is done, will share some more pictures~
Thanks~

Re: Rossi in Faith - Ford Focus 2007 Monza Rally

Here are some more interior pics~~

And here is the new T2M bonnets addons. The details are much better but the PE itself is still a little thin to work on.

This is what I would like to make it a difference from the very start of the project. That is to perform some AFV style weathering on a Rally ride~
