03 relay box hot

Hi there, I hope this is an easy one. I have a 2003 Le Sabre Limited and the battery just went bad, I mean really bad. We had just gotten home from a 500mi trip and when I pulled into the driveway there was stinky steam blowing out of the vent tube from the battery under the car! And the battery was to hot to touch. Never saw that before.

Anyway I replaced the battery and all seems to be fine except it seems that the fuse/relay box under the back seat next to the battery is hot. Now I have never touched it before so it could be normal but does anyone have any experience with this? Strangely it doesn't seem to be one relay in particular it's the entire bunch of them. There has to be a dozen in there and there all hot. Yes the battery is warm but I ran the car for a half an hour to be sure the new battery was topped off.

Any ideas if that's normal?
