evap emissions problem
I have a '95 w/206k miles. my problem is when I fuel up the fuel backs up in the filler neck and shuts off the nozzle. I need to know how to locate and trouble shoot the components of the evaporative emissions system. My Haynes manual is no help on this one.

Go to the dealer, buy a canister, install and problem will be solved.A new canister comes with those solenoids.

Re: evap emissions problem
The first thing to do is to make sure the vent tube is not plugged. The vent is attached to the filler neck.

What's the best way to check the vent for the tank?

Re: evap emissions problem
The best way is to use a high dollar bi-directional tool to see if the valve is working properly. Or have it smoke tested at a shop. More than likely a shop will have to check it for you. If it needs replaced, the tank needs to be lowered.
