fuel pump problems????
hey, i just put a new fuel pump in my truck because the other one went out i have driven it at least 40 miles probably and the other day i drove it to town no problem got to where i was going went in came back out and it wouldnt start. It was just like the pump wasnt pumping again so i cycled the key a couple times and it started i figured maybe when we replaced the pump we messed the fuel guage up so i went and put gas in it it started fine then too and has but what could have caused this should i be concerned???its a 1996 chevy k1500 cheyenne

Re: fuel pump problems????
1) Check fuel pressure.
2) If no pressure check the fuel pump fuse, relay, and filter. Last edited by danielsatur; 07-01-2011 at 06:03 PM. |

Re: fuel pump problems????
Locate the schrader valve located on the fuel rail, it looks like a metal valve stem to a wheel and a pressure guage, it canbe bought or borrowed @ any Auto parts store.
