VW Golf MKV GTI

Hello guys,

The Corvette ZR1 is finished, so I need a new project beside the Ferrari 360 Modena.

I picked up this Fujimi Golf V GTI a few years ago, just when it was released, but I waited to build it. Now it's time to do it, cause I have more of these kits

Here are some old pics I made a few years ago.

To make the model more nice, I bought some stuff for it. First some RS4 wheels by ScaleProduction:

Also a pe set by CrazyModeler will be used:

It needs to be slammed of course!

I'm thinking about Ipanema Brown by Audi for this model:

I'll start with the chassis first, as I want to finish the lowering before I start with the body.

Kris.

This is gonna look amazing! I'm looking foward to it! That is an extremely exotic looking audi, now the question is, can you make it look that good?

It already looks mean, although i would've picked a different color. But it still should be a stunning model. Kris you have to slow down and let us other modelers build some models. Your too fast, and you have improved drastically building within the last two years. Keep it up. If only i had the time you have to build!!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: VW Golf MKV GTI

First update.

I did some putty work to achieve a 'clean' look. The frontbumper and grill part are filled with putty:

Also the antenna hole was filled with putty:

And last but not least I filled up the hole in the rearbumper and the parksensor holes.

Re: VW Golf MKV GTI

Nice!

But I always do otherwise... I don't use putty to fill holes because when dries, it has proclivity to shrink. So I put rodes into holes (made from a spure warm up over the cooker) using CA glue

That's a better solution yes Thanks I'll use that in future builds for sure!

Meanwhile I did some little work on this one again. First I smoothed the body a bit more. Some areas where not that smooth. Now it's smooth enough I hope. I also glued the frontlip on the frontbumper cause it will be in bodycolor also.

Removing the plastic mesh from the frontgrille was very hard to do. When I finally removed all plastic I ended up with a grille broken in 9 pieces. I glued them together and did it another few times untill it got the original shape back again Now the PE part could be placed and it looks much more better than the thick ugly plastic mesh. Off course it's not finished yet, I have to smoothen it a bit more and I also must add another PE trim on the grille which must be painted red.

And a dryfit with the grille:

Meanwhile I'm busy with the chassis to fit the new wheels and make it a bit lower for a better look. I also started on the dashboard which needs some work to fit the PE parts.

Stay tuned to the next update.

Kris.
