Ferrari FXX Brakes

Does anyone have pictures of the brakes on this car? Specifically, I would like to see where the brake fluid lines go into the caliper. All I have are pics of the brakes from the outside and it doesn't show at all.

I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks.

Daniel

Hey mate

probably not much good to you as there's not much in the way of brake lines, but it's the best I've got

Re: Ferrari FXX Brakes

Quite elusive to find anyone that had a chance to take a pic of the back of that caliper.

Looking around on specific info it seems from most press released sources that only the brake pads were upgraded and that the existing Enzo carbon ceramic rotors were utilized. It mentioned nothing of the calipers but I'd bet they'd be the same design. Also, if you're going for the super detail remember that the fronts have a 6-piston design and the rears are 4-piston.

Here's some additional front shots:

This one is a bit dark but if you have a photo editor you might be able to adjust the lighting and have a better look.

Same deal.

Note the hard line on the bottom and the bleeder on the top.

I know it's not an FXX but maybe you can get a better idea of Brembo's design layout of their various calipers. Note the yellow painted hard line on the rightside of the caliper.

Re: Ferrari FXX Brakes

Thanks, guys. I figured it might be a long shot (most F1 cars brakes can be seen, so why not ask?) but I appreciate what you guys have given. Thanks!

I know this sounds ignorant but if I don't know something, I ask. So, how would you differentiate via modeling, the 4- and 6-piston calipers? I know the design of the calipers in the SMS kit are slightly different. Thoughts?

Thanks for the pics!

The caliper shape or size might differ according to the design. The surrounding area (left and right) and where the Ferrari logo sits is where the pistons would be inside the caliper. The FXX ones have a rather bland shape though don't they? Since it's a bit hard to find top view pics of the caliper it's hard to tell if the top view design differs.

regarding brake lines.
there aren't that many variations in the design of brake calipers, especiaslly within one company.
you might to have a general look at their brakes and brake kits to see how they do it.

Yes, I understand where the pistons were but hadn't seen much of a difference between the front and rear calipers, making me wonder if SMS made a mistake in their caliper design.

They are rather bland and not distinctive at all. You'd think for $2 mil you'd get something really cool...

Wolvy--I'm with you. I'm confused by the couple of posts prior to yours...

Re: Ferrari FXX Brakes

Hi.
With the calippers if they made them the same on the model they made a mistake.

I do not have many photos of brakes for fxx but even when you look at the good picture of the car from the side you can see the difference.

Rear calippers are shorter in length.

They look very simmilar on the car because rear disc is smaller.

(Anyway you will need a bit more space to fit more pistons.)

Also it looks from the photos posted here that brake lines must into bottom valve on the calipper, but where egzactly they go into the car I cannot say.

Thanks.

Re: Ferrari FXX Brakes

Thanks, Dan! The calipers are different, front to rear so they appear to be at least close to correct. I appreciate it!

Sorry, but still no detailed pics for the routing of the brake lines.
