running lights are out

Hi Guys

I have this problem that just came up on our 94 skylark custom. The head lights, turn signal and brake lights all work. No running lights, or dash instrument lights also the headlight on chime stopped working. Any Ideas? I'm leaning towards the stalk switch myself.

Re: running lights are out

For the record, the fuse in question is labeled

"Tail Lps"
fuse 20 amp

and is fuse box is behind intrument panel to the left of steering column

I would check orange wire feed (for 12v battery hot) into maltifunction switch prior to removing the switch. If no voltage there- then that is the issue.

Re: running lights are out

Got it fixed this afternoon. It ended up being a bad multifunction switch. I replaced it with one from my parts car and the running lights and the head light chime is working again. Will have to wait until this evening to check the instrument lights, But I have a feeling they will be working again as well.

For good measure I unplugged the new switch and plugged up the original to see If I could duplicate the problem. The problem came back so I can safely say it was the switch, and not bad wiring like every one was saying.
