OK guys, here's the most up-to-date info for TEIN USA. They will begin operations starting November 01, 2001 in California!!

hehe, i haven't spoken to them about price, but I would assume that the prices may be slightly higher due to the freight and inventory costs. (maybe not, not sure). but the NA's for P11's are 95000yen = $770 at the moment FCA Japan, so probably be about $850 FCA Paramount street price.

If we do a general cost analysis on the NA for P11:

$770 retail = about $500 to major distributors in Japan.
$500 + ocean freight, duty, insurance, etc = $555 to TEIN USA.
$550 + TEIN USA margin = $635-$650 selling price to distributors USA.
$650 + costs & store margin = $850 - $870 street price LA area.

TEIN will most-likely boot the price up if they start selling to dealers so that they don't compete with them... perhaps something like $1000 retail and street $850 - $950 or something. It's the freight that cost the most, but if they start bringing them in on containers, is the result. hehehe.

need to place an order for some TEIN's on my civic, perhaps. hahaha!

good cost analysis. grade= B+. would have been an A had you left out the fact that you have a civic.

TEIN commented that they may provide overhaul service in the future, but none at this time.

TEIN usa is not really a new thing...it was named Zen motorsports before it went outta business. Zen was the distributor for TEIN in the US among with other things. Now that Zen died, TEIN Japan took over but the price will not be listed as you mentioned Ken. They NEVER use the currency system to set the MSRP. The TEINs i am ordering for couple of guys are placed through TEIN USA...it always has been. anway, back to the MSRP, if someting is listed for $104000 YEN, the list price will be $1040 despite the currency exchange. Dont ask me why but it's always like this.

luke-yah, they were in torrance about 15min from where i lived. not really sure how serious those zen guys were, or had the finaces to really consider themselves a company. another one of those online wanna be shops with a dot com at the end. how come TEIN didn't choose digitalracer as their primary dealer? you probably have more sales than the zen guys already.

so any one go to sema??!

oh..hehe, i did...it was OK..too many RSXs there...however, Nismo was there, surprisingly, and they are going to began offer their line of product through the dealers here...however, there wont be any hardcore nismo stuff though..just like TRD here, only their basic stuff is here.
