04 GTP loss of boost
Last night I was driving home from work and notice a loss of power. I turned on the boost gauge and it only read boost if I jumped on the throttle, and even then it was only about half for a second or two. The car doesn't seem to be running any different except for that.
I have read all I could find and I am thinking that it may be a loss of vacuum or a stuck bypass valve. Any ideas? The car has about 160k miles if that matters. |

Re: 04 GTP loss of boost
Make sure the belt is good on the supercharger.
Are you sure your losing bost, or is the guage lying to you? I am unfamiliar to the series III 3800SC motor, but on the Series II, there is a sensor that measures boost. The vacuum line that leaves the bottom of the lower intake manifold on the passenger side of the motor, supplies vaccum/boost to the sensor. If your motor has this vacuum line, make sure its connected and not cracked.

Re: 04 GTP loss of boost
Seems like I am down on power, but I am not sure if it is the gauge or an actual loss in boost. I will check the belt. I tried looking and all hoses look ok, but I didn't have very good light.
