Revell Ferrari Enzo fitment issue (Help)

Just bought this the other week and noticed the rear hatch does not close down all the way. I've tried shaving etc. but no luck. It looks like it is warped almost, I've tred bending it back but I'm afraid to go to far with it and break it.
I have seen another completed Enzo with the same problem so any tips on fixing it would be great. If I can't fix it I will just glue it down

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks warped to me. You can see if Revell can send a replacement (do it via email though their website-people report no problems, no expense, vs. their phone number), or you can attempt to massage the warp out by bending/twisting it carefully in the opposite direction. Seems like their plastic is soft enough these days that you should be able to get it fixed that way. Revell Enzos have better body panel fit than Tamiya....and their respective engine covers are identically sized; they can be swapped between the two models.

Thanks, I'll try contacting Revell to get a replacement. Didn't think about doing that.

Re: Revell Ferrari Enzo fitment issue (Help)

hot (50+ degrees celcius) water to heat the plastic before attempting to bend it back into shape might help.
a cold bath after the bending seems to help "set" it after bending when hot as well.

could just be psychosomatic though...

Just ordered a replacement part from Revell. If the issue happens again though I will for sure try that.
Thanks for the tip.

Re: Revell Ferrari Enzo fitment issue (Help)

just so you know, i said 50 degrees c because that is the temp that my hot water boiler is set at and so it is what comes out of my tap.
there is absolutely no scientific reason for that number other than that...

also, sometimes, the place that you need to apply pressure isn't where you think it is.
a warp as you show on your part could start from anywhere between those two opposite corners and the warp itself could be gradual over that entire corner.
what that means is that if your were to try and bend it back innto shape under heat, you would need to do it bit by bit over that area instead of just twisting it over a single line on the plane.

After you get a non warped body here is an idea that will lock down the deck when shut. I glued a small .030 square strip of plastic inside of each fender(as shown in pic) when closing the deck you spread slightly then it catches under the inner fender part of chassis. I did have to bend mine some to.
