UGH!! Water Leak

The car was low on oil this morning, was on my way to school, it started smoking and cut off. I got someone to help me push it into a parking lot. Added 2 quarts of oil and decided to add water to the radiator. The water started leaking out didn't fill up. Was able to get it started so I went to school. Left school and it started doing the same thing, it cut off again as soon as I pulled up into my yard. Let it cool off then drove it up to my mechanic, he said that it looks like it is leaking water from the back of the engine. What could cause it to do that? I have never experienced this issue before. Had the thermostat and water pumps replaced last year. I am supposed to take it back to him in the morning.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

yep, you have a leak, just keep driving it and when it blows up, you can buy a new car. Or, have someone with knowledge and skills find the problem and fix it which you already determined before you posted (I am supposed to take it back to him in the morning. )... tha't the BEST idea
