[Tamiya] Honda Civic Gr. A Mugen Race Car

I've converted this thing to street, with a race interior.

Gone for a two tone blue and white effect. :P The bits where the blue seeped onto the White is okay because that'll be done over in matt black for the trim.

The wheels I'm using are from either a Castrol Celica or a Mitsubishi Evo Rally Car.

A rough mockup.

Thanks for looking
-Tomo

This is how she stands at the minute. I'll post it in the completed section tomorrow when I have some outside pics.
I tried to make it look kinda scruffy.. Do you think I did a good job?

will you still add the black trim before finishing it? also some silver paint behind the lights would help to bring it to life.
keep it up!

Re: [Tamiya] Honda Civic Gr. A Mugen Race Car

I don't think I will. The trim caused me a LOT of hassle. Tried it earlier, spilled paint, went off the lines... had to strip and respray it, drove me insane!
Thanks for the tip, I usually do that but for some reason didn't do that this time o.O

Re: [Tamiya] Honda Civic Gr. A Mugen Race Car

how did you try it the first time? if you mask it up nicely, then lightly spray some clear from a distance(dont do a wet coat!). Then after that has dried, lightly spray some black from a distance also, making sure to only spray mist coats and not allowing the paint to go on wet. You should get a clean line when you pull the masking off.
I know its annoying, the amount of times i've had paint bleed under the tape! but this method works well. The paint won't bleed under if your spraying very dry coats of paint.
