Wheels Wont Spin Please Help?
Ok So I got a unique problem here...
My buddy was driving his Ford Focus a 06 and all of a sudden when he applied the breaks there was a strange sound and when he went to pull over the car stopped in motion and the wheels stopped spinning. We later found out that one of the caliber mouting bolt completely came off and forced the caliber against the inside of the rim, it grinded enough to put a big enough hole in the rim to let the air out! So after getting the calibers mouted back on correctly the wheels will not spin at all even with the car off the ground and gas applied in gear there is still nothing I dont know that much about cars and Im sure it has to be fixed by a pro but I'm really curious to what happend here. Thnx fellas |

Re: Wheels Wont Spin Please Help?
Im not surprised, somethihing will have bent if it caused that much damage to the rim. Potentially you could be looking at new hub assembly caliper and discs etc.

Re: Wheels Wont Spin Please Help?
Well The caliber is actually still completely intact with a very minor scratch on the surface that grinded the rim down.
One bolt still remained on the caliber so its didnt completely come off but you can imagine what would happen when you break if only one bolt was holding it on lol Anyway Im just curious as to why the actual wheels wont spin its like they are jammed or somin? Is it possibly an axle broken or something? Thnx for anyone who takes the time to read and respond |

Re: Wheels Wont Spin Please Help?
is the wheel in question on the front or back? I assume it's the front. Jack up the front and put the trans in neutral and try to rotate the wheel. it should rotate if not remove the wheel and try to rotate the rotor. if still no rotation remove the caliper. then again check for rotation. look and try to see where the problem is. worst case will have to remove the lower control arm and pull out the drive shaft, and check the shaft rotation. that should help pinpoint a problem.
Hope you got it figured out I just noticed this post is a month old
