[Solved]1988 Buick Century Ltd. w/H.D. Cooling

Hello all,
Just joined and already have a question (isn't that the way it goes)

What type radiator is in a 1988 Buick Century? Looking at the online parts stores in my area they have one listed as "w/H.D. Cooling." What is H.D. cooling and does my car have that. From the searches I've done, I'm guessing it's an oil cooler?

Here's a link to the radiators listed for my car. Which one would I want?

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ge-_-Radiators

Thank you

Edit:
Marked as solved although it wasn't really an issue

Welcome to AF!!

If you have AC make sure to get the one that will work. Heavy duty cooling indicates a larger radiator usually if you have a HD radiator you will have a thicker core than a standard radiator. Installing a HD radiator in your car won't hurt anything and it will help your car run cooler although it will require more coolant than a standard radiator.

Thanks GTP Dad!

That was almost to easy as far as HD means heavy duty, which was my first thought, although searches for this had me thinking otherwise almost.

Yes,
I have air conditioning.

I'm not and don't even want to be to mechanically inclined, as far as working on cars. It's just not my thing what so ever. How do I know if I have oil cooling lines or tranny cooler lines?

Thanks again

Welcome to AF cork1958.

It would help to include what engine your car has, as this has a big impact on what radiator you need.

Hmm?
Guess that would help, huh? Just clicked the link I provided above and it doesn't take you to the make/model/year of my car, unless you're signed into that site.

Anyway, it's the 2.8L motor w/AC..

As it is, had my mechanic talking to the guy at Advanced Auto yesterday. He's ordering BOTH the radiators that are supposed to fit my car with H.D and max cooling as without having the radiator out, we can't measure accurately to tell how tall or wide, the core is. Going to remove radiator and take it with us for comparison Friday.

Thanks

Edit:
New radiator is all installed and functioning perfectly. All nuts, bolts, clips, etc., came out/off as easy as pie! If you can believe that?!!
