1985 318i passenger floor board water leak
I have just purchased a bmw 318i and after a heavy rain noticed the passenger floor board was wet after removing my mats I also noticed that the previous owner must have cut out the original carpet in this section and replaced it with new piece due to this proble. Any insight into where the water is coming from and what to do would be muy bueno(very good).

Leak
if your car is a coupe, (2 door) then its probably the airvents under the windscreen under the bonnet. Remove the vent and check for rust cracks and make sure the drain holes aren't blocked.
