Carbon Fiber hoods are lighter, but if you bump someone, and it cracks, its hard to repair IF its repairable, FiberGlass is heavier, you can cut it up if yer gonna do yer own lil mods like this :

But Carbon Fibers are nice, cus they add a lil more show to your car. But u can also just get a aftermarket hood made from fiberglass too.. all depends on what the person likes really.

those civic lights are sick and disgusting to look at.

but carbon fiber is everybodies favorite, its very light and strong, should be used for weight savings, but more often for looks.

i have a fiberglass hood, and im happy.

dont know if you all knew, but "carbon fiber" hoods that you buy, unless it cost like 1,000, it is most likely a fiberglass hood with a layer of carbon fiber over the top of it.

i didnt think it was until my brothers integra got in a wreck and the layer of carbon fiber got messed up and, low and behold, fiberglass core!

so basically, when u buy a carbon fiber hood, you're paying for looks. if you want race weight reduction, buy fiberglass since its cheaper.

plus think about it.
fiberglass hood = X lbs
carbon fiber hood = X lbs + weight of carbon fiber.

the "carbon fiber" hood actually weighs more.
