Replacing valve cover gasket?
I have a leaky Valve cover gasket and would like to try and replace it myself instead of paying $100 for the mechanic to do it. Is this difficult to do? Anything snags I should keep in mind?

I wish I could say I replaced this myself, but my dad did it for me b/c I had mono at the time. I'll ask him later tonight if he had any big problems with it. Seems to me it wasn't too bad of a job to DIY.

It's really easy, and much cheaper to do it yourself. Just make sure to clean both mating surfaces really good and torque the bolts in correct sequence, and don't overtighten. No need for gasket sealers.
Do you have a torque wrench? Regards, Viktor. |

I have access to a torque wrench, but don't know the proceedure or any ins and outs of what to watch out for.
