Low Idle in cold weather
I have a 97 villager and at initial cold startup, the vehicle will start, but then idle down like it wants to die. I have to rev the motor for like 15 sec and then it will be fine, and it will be fine as long as the engine is warm. If this was an ordinary Ford motor, I would clean or replace the Idle Speed Control motor becaus ethis is exactly what it sounds like, but the Nissan motor has no idel speed control motor.
I have cleaned out the throttle body, mass air meter, but it still does it. I have found NO vaccume leaks either. What can anyone suggest I do now. |

Re: Low Idle in cold weather
Replace or clean the idle air control valve. It is on the center top rear of the intake manifold. If you look under the cowl u will see it it has 4 bolts and two connectors as well as a coolnat hose. If you find one cheap let me know I need it as well replaced it in january 05 with a used and it has craped out now still runs and starts but it sucks to have to stay in the car to idle it on those cold mornings.

Re: Low Idle in cold weather
I am going to be looking into some other possibilities this week and try and get a fix for this wide spread problem. I will let you know.
