What's up Skyline fans...I've got a really important question.
Does a 1996 R33 Skyline GTS Type S have a 2000cc or a 2500cc engine?!?? I think it's supposed to have a 2500cc...but i gotta confirm with you Skyline heads here... THANX dudes! Signing off... |

R33's have the RB25DE and RB25DET motors, (GTR having the RB26)
the RB25 is a 2500cc motor. The RB20 was only in the R30-32 as far as I know, but then again I don't care much about the SKyline, im more of a Silvia fan myself. |

The RB20DET and RB20DE motor was binned if you will during the production run of the R33. Most was due to the weight increase and lack of power for a larger car, and the RB25DE came into its own. The R33 also saw the lost of the RB20DET in the GTS4 version as well.
That changed a bit when the R34 production came out. With new technology Nissan brought back the RB20DE in limited numbers coupled with high volumes of RB25DE motors for the N/A cars.

I've never heard of a 2.0l RB engine in an R33 either. They are just to damn heavy, it'd be like pullin an SUV with a 4 cyl boxer. Well... Not that bad but ya know what I mean

GTS = RB20E GTS25 = RB25DE GTS4 = RB25DE GTS25t = RB25DET Definately a 2 litre version. Couldn't even afford to put twin cams on it. Try here for some specs... Ant |

yep is is saddly true. The 2 litre version of the R33 GTS is an RB20E or the same engine that was put in the R32 GTE. It has a distributor and plug leads unlike the RB20DE has.
It is a single over head cam producing a whopping 110 brake hp
