Accord engine swap info

I have a 2000 Accord 3.0 V6, I have added a Greddy dual exhaust AEM V2 intake system new spark plugs and wires DC sports headers, Optima dry cell battery. I would like to find some info on engine swap, because I have been considering one. For example take a DOHC Mitsubishi 3000GT engine you have more power plus more parts avaliable. But is it possible? If any one has any info please help.

Question Re: Accord engine swap info

Yea well money is something that's scarce and hard to come by today, the supercharger for this car costs 4 grand plus the work. I found the price for the engine a JDM spec is 3,500 but if you know somebody who will do the work then we'll talk. You're paying a little bit more for an engine that has more horsepower DOHC and parts that are less expensive and more readily avaliable.

Re: Accord engine swap info

Anything is possible as stated before but a more logical swap would be with a Euro R or Type S motor.

You would be dropping 10 horse power from stock ratings but the swap would switch from a v6 motor to a 4 cylinder. 4 Banger= more parts accessible.

Easier to turbo, and a Euro R can be aquired for about 2500.

I thought about trying to put an NSX in my 99, but it would end up costing way to much. Again anything is possible.

I had the same idea about dropping in the NSX but after further investigation, I figured out that it is practically impossible. See the NSX is a mid-engine car so you would have to redo the tranny as well as ruin any balance whatsoever. Plus there are almost no NSX engines for sale since the car is mad crazy dough, about 90 grand if not more for the new one.A Mistubishi 3000GT VR4 is so much like the Accords. The only difference is dual overhead cams, instead of a single and about 20 more horses. But the greatest advantage isthey are readily avalible and that there is an extremely huge aftermarket for the engine, I even saw this type of engine pushing upwards of 400 horses, which is pretty crazy. The 3000Gt(3220 pounds) is only 120 pounds heavier than the Accord(3100 pounds). and is mounted inline like the Accord engine. Think about it. If you find anything please post. Sorry for the long post but, at least I got my point across.

Re: Accord engine swap info

i don't know what is avalable for 3000GT, but why not to get J32A2?
it 260hp and 232lb/ft right out the box, then you can throw CT supercharger on it, with little bit of tweaking you can have 400WHP
