Wet floorboard

I went out this morning, the floorboard of my truck was wet, i first thought it was the heatercore, then i noticed the cupholder had water in it. I looked up and the center console was dripping, and the entire headliner was soaked......

I had a small chip in the front windshield, but it was way too low, and now the front windshield gasket was leaking, So i called insurance company, they gave me a claim number, set an appointment with Glass Doctor so in 4 hours and at no cost out of pocket becasue i live in kentucky and have full coverage insurance, i now have a brand new windshield. I really expected to have to deal with some crazy people and end up being given the all day.

I know i have to shampoo the truck to get the wated out and everything dry, but the cost of cleaning the truck instead of replacing a heatercore and all that work before realizing that it was a wrong diagnosis would really suck.

Re: Wet floorboard

good for you. yes, does it right above the mirror mount.

sooo, share with us. what kind of insurance will pay for windshield replacement, without deductible?

oh, and chips won't leak; cracks won't leak; it's triplex; only the very outer layer of glass is punctured, then there's underlying plastic, then glass again.

with fire thieft insurance my "state" requires glass breakage replacement..

just this year 94 S10 parked in my driveway on 100deg f day sun cracked the windshield at 2 places.

called insurance company ,called my favorite glass company sons windshield replaced in drive way.. now the front doors close properly ..

I guess this was another hack job on the old glass install as the new one fits perfect..cost was zero ...

but my guess is in areas of no glass coverage the insurance will cost less.

Re: Wet floorboard

I live in kentucky have full coverage and use Kentucky Farm Bureau insirance, and it was reapired under a claim number on the insurance, the deductable was waved by the insurance company due to state laws here as Jcat mentioned. It was nice not having the run around to get it fixed. now its nice and dry inside after shampooing the upholstry its also nice and clean inside which it needed anyways due to the wintry weater weve had this year.
