Honda DC2 Integra, flat gold, hellaflush
So a buddy of mine brought his car by the shop today
![]() It's a pretty nice looking car. I climbed up the steps across the way to get a couple wide shots. ![]() ![]() Then I came down. ![]() ![]() Fujimi kit, few mods. Seats out of something, I think the Revell SVT Focus, painted blue to sort of go with the blue calipers and compliment the gold. The calipers and rotors are SAS, but I used only half a disk and half a caliper per wheel so I can get two cars out of each of the SAS brake sets I have left. I used Aoshima wheels, but I can't remember which ones. I also used the Aoshima stretchwall tires, stretched around the much larger wheels. I am trying for the hellaflush look, and while the wheels are a little big and don't have the aggressive offset that you see a lot these days, I think it worked. The stretchwalls allow for the wheels to be pushed way out, and after thinning the fenders, the lip of the wheel is almost flush with the fender, which is most important. Plus, the flat paint really needed the shiniest wheels I could muster. ![]() ![]() The headlights were another experiment. I used aluminum tube and some clear plastic rod in the center to get the HID look, and I was sort of successful. It needs some more refining but I like it. ![]() Please, comments, criticisms welcome! This was a shake-the-box experimental build, just for fun and I wanted to capture a look, so I didn't go crazy with detail. Anything that may improve the car is a welcome comment, I'm happy to hear tricks that I can experiment with to make my full-on builds better. Thanks for looking!

I like the lights more then the rest. The gold is too close to the color of sealer for my taste and i think bronze or black chrome wheels would suit it better.

Those are the best jdm lights I've seen on a 1/24 itr! Did you have drill them out? You took it to another level on those lights! The rest of the car looks great too!

Will, I love everything about it!! The wheels are excellent choices. The color took a bit of studying for me to really dig it but the whole thing works for me. mattepaintc

Re: Honda DC2 Integra, flat gold, hellaflush
Thanks, Tonio. Means a lot
![]() I did drill out the headlights. I carefully ran a pilot hole through the center of the molded-in HID, then two bits progressively bigger until it was all gone. I took clear rod that fit down the middle of some aluminum tube, cut the rod to length, sanded the end round and polished. I glued the tube into the headlight, painted it all black, then used my knife to scratch the paint away to make the "chrome" bezel, and finally slid the rod in. With a little refining, I think it will be very convincing.

Re: Honda DC2 Integra, flat gold, hellaflush
The excecution is excellent. Im not a big fan on matt finishes on cars, but i have to say it draws me in. Headlights on these fujimi kits are really hard to detail and make look good, but you made them look fantastic. Nice work Will.

Thanks for the tip. Where did you get the clear rod?

Re: Honda DC2 Integra, flat gold, hellaflush
Very nice work, especially on headlights. It's gonna push me finish my own DC2
![]() About the color, not sure I would have done it, but it's rather nice. I'm just not very enthusiast about the pure chrome rims (Volk CE28N?). I think they would underline the body color 10 times better in black or gunmetal. I haven't been around for a while, did you also complete your time attack Teg? |

Re: Honda DC2 Integra, flat gold, hellaflush
My LHS carries a lot of scratchbuilding supplies, and the Plastruct display usually has clear styrene rod in it.
No, my time attack car is sill on the bench. The wheels are Work SA-70. I thought a very, very bright chrome wheel would look very dramatic on a flat car. Just for fun
