'98 Intrepid 2.7 bad computer
Hi, guy dropped off a 1998 with a 2.7, said he was driving down the highway and it died, turns over, but no fire. When I got it two of the ignition fuses were blown, can't remember which two right off hand, and I don't think the fuel pump was coming on, after replacing those fuses the pump runs, but it's not getting spark or pulses to the injector. I know I had a similar problem with an '03 Caravan and I had to check like C59 or something on the PCM to see if was supplying ground coming out of the computer. Is there a similar check for this computer?

things I would check;
-timing belt -ignition control module -coil -fuel filter -ignition switch

Re: '98 Intrepid 2.7 bad computer
Timing belt is good, compression wise anyway. This car has individual coil on plugs, is there ignition module for that setup? Fuel pressure is good, so I'm assuming filter is ok, and ignition switch turns on the fuel pump, so I'm guessing it's ok too. Currently I'm not getting pulse at coils, and the injectors aren't firing. Thanks for the ideas.

There is an ignition starter switch for that, whether it has any relevance or not, don't know. But another thing too, I think this model has a fuel cutoff switch somewhere.

Re: '98 Intrepid 2.7 bad computer
The owners just bought it, so after my preliminary checking, I told them to call the dealer where they bought it. Didn't want to dig too deeply if they'd warranty anything. Hopefully it won't come back.

We've all been there at one time or another. It'd be interesting to know what it ends up being.
