H22 in an 88-91 CRX
I'm planning on running an H22 in an 88-91 CRX fairly soon if no financial problems insue, and i was wondering what types of problems i'll run into with the swap other than the oil pan being too low. The motor has a hydro tranny, and the car is set for cable. I am also going with new hasport motor mounts. Thanks for the input.

yea dont even waste your time with the h22, its too much work for our cars, go with a turbo b18 and you'll be fine.

the type-r is over rated, over priced, and worthless

I'd have to disagree on the worthlessness of them
Over priced yes, but ive seen one of those in action before on a dyno. It put 170s on the ground. I've also seen guys run solid 14s with just I/H/E on the type r teg. Expensive yes, but definitely powerful. Im not going turbo on the crx before i do it on the si. The crx is going to be a beater for college highway driving, and i didnt want it to be slow. The debris on the highway is tearing up the front end on the si, and the miles are wearin out the motor. I wanted a crap car for the second, but with descent power. It will be perfect for the drags when im done with the si. The Si isnt staying NA for long, and its also not staying 1.6 either. I've started the head rebuild and I'm running a custom chipped hondata OBD1 that a guy i know with a shop can burn. Cool guy, Sam Mahdavi, up in GA. He's the guy with the drag CR-NS-X. I was so happy when he told me to call him personally. lol something small, but its something. Anyways, for now, that crx is going to be the daily driver. But its gotta be a good platform for the strip when im ready for it.

Tell you what though, when you start tuning that gsr motor and somebody esle tunes a type r, youll wish you had that 8500 rpms. People dont think that makes much of a difference... It really does.
Yah you can make the gsr rev that too, but then after the new cams, springs, valves, etc, you really havent spent much less than a type r (neglecting the belly guts like crank rods pistons assuming theyll be replaced for turbo anyways). In just the stocker motors its the difference in about 20 wheel horse. Then breathe some insta-torque to that thing and see those gains turn into 40 or 50 extra horse youll be without because you cant even rev 8000. Not trying to say your wrong, just that i disagree and why.
