Removing calipers from one piece brakes
Hey everyone,
I am about to begin work on Tamiya's Enzo with the Crazy Modeler P/E set and I ran into a snag...how do I remove the molded brake caliper from the one piece break disc/hub part. Plus, how do you drill out the groove where the P/E break fits in between the caliper itself? I have power tools, but I do not want to experiment on this kit (I want this one to be perfect!). I did try to use a P/E saw on an old Tamiya DTM kit and made a mess of it! I have seen many people replace the kit brakes and calipers with aftermarket P/E, but no one makes mention of how they actually do it. Thanks in advance for your help, Stuart |

Re: Removing calipers from one piece brakes
That was my thread in the link MPWR posted. I ended up going for the little Crazy Modeler circular saw FYI
Ive been working on another model now so have not actually tried it yet, but im not looking forward to it The Scuderia i am building has 2 piece calipers which has made it much easier |

Re: Removing calipers from one piece brakes
Still have not cut the calipers but have found these, thought you might find them useful Kans

Re: Removing calipers from one piece brakes
Thanks. Where did you find them? I would also need the hand break calipers for the Enzo I am working on.

Re: Removing calipers from one piece brakes
I got them from www.modelsforsale.com but I'm sure there are places selling them in the US, look for Hobby Design stockists.
