Re: wiring harness

yes, you should be able to. Personally, I'd just do the mpfi swap and use the dx harness modified with parts from the si harness. There are plenty of write ups out there.

Re: wiring harness

if by complete you mean swaping your entire harness, both engine harness and interior harness. way way way easier to add the what, 4 wires to the dx harness than mess with all the swapping

Re: wiring harness

Ya, like 4-6 wires to the DX harness. 2 for injectors and 2 for distributor. I think that was it. Been a couple years since I did one of those conversions.

Re: wiring harness

Thats all he has to do is add the 4 wires. Use the Si harness for donor wires and connectors

Check that out, should answer all your questions on the wiring you need to do. You can't just swap out the engine harness and be done. Different model cars had wires running to different sides. I tried to make the walk through as simple as I could, if you have any questions after reading it, just ask.

Re: wiring harness

hey guys I wanted to mention that I do not have an engine harness or motor in the dx. it was bought as a shell. so I will have to use my si harness as a doner and retrive the wires needed correct?

Re: wiring harness

Your best bet is to go to a salvage yard and get a DX harness, or keep on eye online for one. Otherwise you have a lot of wiring ahead of you, or swapping out the complete harness: engine and interior.

Re: wiring harness

oh yea let me clarify my self.I do not have a dx engine harness but do have the interior through the fire wall to fender wells on the dx>>>>now as for the si I have every thing as this car was running till I took the motor and suspention out and put it in the dx body.dx was bought as a shell:::no motor/harness.trans or drive axles.MY QUESTION? can I still use the si engine harness and take the 4/6 wires out of the si and make sure ALL wires color code match.

Re: wiring harness

no i dont think it would work you would have to have a bunch of conectors from the dx harness to swap over. in witch case it would be easier to just get a dx harness. if you did get it to work it would be a headache, i would assume... anyways cps is cylinder position sensor and dizzy is your distributor... honestly if you have the entire harness for the si engine and interior just swap it. its a pain in the ass but its better than what your thinking of doing in my eyes anyway

Re: wiring harness

That is what I have said several times: the 2 options are to either get a DX engine harness and modify it, which I would highly recommend, or to swap out the DX interior harness for the Si harness.

Unless you have experience reading wiring diagrams and electrical work, swapping wires around on the Si harness to work with the DX chassis is going to be a pain in the ass and good luck with it.
