Yet another supra

Hi AF people I am new to this whole modeling thing. I have been working on a tamiya supra for the pass couple of months. I started out building the car stock but got bored of it so I started to messing around with moding the turbo and intercooler and this is the out come. Tell me wat you think please feel free too comment. Sorry Im still trying to figure out how to add picture to this thread but here the link to see the picture http://photobucket.com/mk4

So this is where things got interesting I decided to do a single turbo setup. I cut off the stock manifold and build my own, ran some tubing
and build a intercooler as well.

So thats what I got so far. Tell me wat you think. My next plan is to maybe building a lip or a full body kit.

For a beginner, it's looking quite nice. Keep up the good work.

Re: Yet another supra

lookin good man.

a couple of things i would like to point out though being a real life supra owner/enthusiat:

1: for realism purposes the turbo is positioned back wards ...if that makes any sense... the outleft of the compressor housing sits to the right, not left like you have it, this is because of the way the exhaust flows into the ehxaust housing making the turbine sping Clockwise if looking at it from the front of the car, the way you have it set up would not flow any air if it makes any sense

2: the supra block is no aluminum, meaning it wouldnt be silver in color, but rather black, when i build these tamiya models i leave the block the color it comes in , black, but paint the cylinder head portion as well as the oil pan portion in aluminum silver.

i really like the way the exhaust looks.

Re: Yet another supra

Thanks for the comment. I own a supra myself (87 MKIII). I didnt catch the backward turbo untill I waz finished with it thanks for pointing that out. Ill correct that when im done with the body. As far as the engine block I wanted it to show some detail so I painted it aluminum thinking it was gray but it turned out ok. I am still trying to figure out how to build a BOV do u have any ideas??

Re: Yet another supra

yes i actually do if you look at my other thread (my veryf rist build thats kind of messy....) you can see that i made a BOV out a very thing pipe and i stuck a piece of plastic pipe through it and filed down the nose of it to resemble the HKS SSQV bov. sorry if that doesnt make any sense i didnt take progress pics of the BOV as i was building it...

Re: Yet another supra

Looks good, did you prime the chasis tho? Nice detail in the engine bay, but try more coats of paint next time on the engine (white), light coats i mean. Because it looks like it pooled up in spots, usually that happens when too thick of coat is sprayed. Good luck!

Re: Yet another supra

one trick i found to work really well when working with miliput putty is wetting your fingers just a LITTLE bit, it allows you to realllyy smooth the clay and get the shapes you want w/out leaving so much material to sand off later
