Re: transmisson
I wouldn't have a clue but to give others a clue could you tell them specifically which transmission you are talking about. There are at least 3. I'd think the electronics differences alone would rule it out.
Lived in Plattsburgh for 8 years. Still feel like you're living in a meat locker up there?

Re: transmisson
Aside from tires, maybe, and a few fluids, I seriously doubt that a second gen '94 Caravan is compatible with a 3rd gen '99. If I recall correctly, OBD II (Onboard Diagnostics II) was introduced for the first time in the 1996 model year Caravan. Since OBD II queries the transmission and reports codes specific to a 3rd gen transmission design, this alone should convince you NOT to attempt mixing and matching ANY component outside of the 1996-2000, 3rd generation Caravan... which is what your '99 is.
If I had to guess, your '99 transmission may be backward compatible to '96... but that's a big MAYBE. If the tranny we're talking about is a 4-speed from a 1994 with 3.3L motor, ya gotta remember that early 1990's 4-speed trannys were AWFUL. Here's an example from Edmunds... http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/caravan/review.html Basically, I wouldn't attempt to put a '94 tranny into a '99 Caravan for any reason. But that's just me.
