Funny question about running out of gas

What happens when our cars run out of gas? I am just curious because I have never ran out of gas before and i've been running my car low on gas alot lately cause gas prices suck. What are the symptoms when you are running on fumes? Is it true your check engine light comes on right before your car dies?

If your car dies when you're taking a corner, that's a good sign you're really low on gas. Or if it sputters under acceleration, and stuff like that. My friends car ran out of gas and there wasn't a gas station around, so he poured in like 5 bottles of octane booster and drove to a gas station.

our cars have gas lights? Wow I never knew that because my gas gauge goes up and down, so I never know when im low on gas, one second it could be at the empty line, and the next its hat 1/4. But I never knew our cars had the gas light..learn something new everyday.

Hey mine does the same thing. It eats gas, then throws it right back in there. I just fill her up once she gets close to the E mark.

Yea, i think that could be it Because I usually take turns hard, no easing into turns Can't wait to see how my car handles with some good coilovers and strut bars all around.
