VW Golf Mk1 Gti #on deep dish steelies#

Never saw so many threads about Vw kits so I had to start one too
I received today my Aoshima wheels from the 'Custom wheels and Kaļ parts' kit and could not resist to put them under Fujimi's Golf1 Gti.

So, I start to work on ...

As it will be white as the 911R (see other WIP thread), I'll paint both bodies at the same time.

Hlj doesn't allow hotlinking of their pics so here is the link to the kit:

Thanks guys
This is what I +/- try to replicate Except for the color.

Nothing beats widened steelies on an old watercooled Vw

I've seen that Golf in Real Life.

That photo has been shot in Stadskanaal, it's near my place .

Re: VW Golf Mk1 Gti #on deep dish steelies#

!! Flash doesn't do justice to pictures, when we'll have some sun I'll take outdoor shots !!

Dashboard's ready.

Chassis modified to fit the widened steelies but also a new exhaust.

Floor realised with synthetic velvet

In progress: body + seats (like this!)

I know but it's the typical pattern for pre-1980 interiors .
There are some inconsistencies in the kit (post-80 dashboard with pre-80 steering-wheel. The other steering-wheel given with the kit is for the LX version.) so I had to choose between both interiors, pre-1980 and post-1980.
I don't like the post-80 version VVV
