2CV "Rock and Roll-Bar" conversion (aka Jean-Paul)

This my birthday present to myself – the completed thread for Jean-Paul the 2CV

Many thanks to everyone who followed along during the build and provided encouragement, ideas and input – it really helped turn this into a fun build for me that, to be honest, I am kind of sad to actually finish

Also, a special thanks to friends and members who provided more than just moral support but chipped in with tools, parts, items, references and everything else that contributed to making this build become a reality.

This is a conversion of the Tamiya 1/24 Citroen 2CV to represent an existing car that tweaked my imagination when I came across it during a Google search for reference photos. I have no idea who owns the original and made the conversion but I would love to find out so that I could send them photos of my interpretation
Anyone feeling masochistic can find the full WIP here.

The build has many scratch built parts which, apart form the roll cage, include the suspension, seats, engine parts, spare wheels etc.

The diorama was an idea that developed much later in the build and became a sort of experimental laboratory for me to play with different techniques.

Thanks again for your support and enjoy

This is the reference photo that started the whole project just 3 years, 3 months, 23 days ago (or if you prefer: 1211 days / 29 064 hours / 1 743 840 minutes / 104 630 400 seconds).

Brilliant thread and great fun to follow along. The car alone has some of the best weathering I have ever seen, it's a jewel all by itself but the diorama is simply amazing. It's hard to believe you started this that long ago but was sure worth the wait.

Nah, that won't do, where's the bike? And where's that beer the girlfriend was suppose to bring, I only see some Coke!

Just kidding!
Chapeau mon ami! That work of yours is a piece of art!

JP the 2CV is absolutely fantastic!!! JPP!

Everything I love about modelling is in this build

The WIP thread is a great story and a very special one - a true story of an ARTIST and his journey... Thank you for sharing, Steven!

Congratulations and... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

One of the few builds here I will truely remember, when one day far away from now I will think about modeling. See, you are in my memories - in a twisted way.

Exceptional build. Period.

Woooow, finished?! Fantastic!!

It just oozes character. Bravo!

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this build over the years. Seems like almost an end of an era to see it finished.

I like the dipstick left out. It suggests someone who is too lazy to complete checking the oil level:

"Whew, got that dipstick out. Well, there's my task for the morning done- time for a smoke and a nap. This afternoon, maybe I'll get around to reinserting it. Or maybe next week...."

Actually, that sounds a bit like how I build.
