1997 SL coolant refill procedure
Hey guys...Can anyone tell me how to refill the cooling system after changing the thermostat? Should the temp gauge be on the half mark ? Mine is at the quarter mark. Thanks for you help.

Re: 1997 SL coolant refill procedure
For '96+ the normal operating temperature should be 1-2mm above 1/4 mark as per the guage.
To refill your coolant, just pour the new coolant into the resiviour, run the car for a few minutes, and then check the coolant level again. Also, the ECTS is responsible for coolant temperatures. You may need to replace it as the stock one is resin and can crack sending false data to the PCM. |
