As a none judged entry...It was my first ever muscle car build... with the photo etch and I loved every second of it..Anyway... heres the final images.

So, Apologies from me to AF for forgetting to post this one. Alot of people here love to see the Muscle.

Re: Revell:Baldwin Motion '69 Camaro

Great build! That's a beautiful shine as well. How did you detail the front piece with the black and the chrome? I've got a 69 softtop and I've just stared at that piece trying to figure out the best way to paint it.

I agree with jmwallac concerning the paint, looks "strange", nevertheless it looks fantastic, the etched parts improve the the appearance a lot

Did the paint etch the plastic, or is this an artifact of the photography?
Hi mate, I simple sprayed the entire front end with citadel chaos black then used a Q-tip with thinners to remove the chrome area, chaos black is quite easily removed with thinners..

I'm not sure what you mean about this comment.?

Re: Revell:Baldwin Motion '69 Camaro

I'm thinking he's talking about the visible texture of the blue that wasn't smothed down with the clear coat.

My best guess would be that since it's a metallic paint, and sanding metallics makes them dull, he just cleared over the base coat which was kind of rough, but...uhh...smooth???? and polished the clear. If you look at a real car that is a metallic with a clear coat, you'll likely see the same effect.

Oh, and by the way, this is a very inspiring build. What photo etch kit did you use? ....MCG?

Yeh thats what it looks like, to thick of a base coat, but clear really helped it out. I remember seeing this one on the other forum, sweet build. Perfect color choice, and pe came out great!
