2001 sentra 2.0
I was wondering if anyone knew of any parts that could be removed or adjusted to gain horse power in my 2001 sentra se 2.0. Thank you.

Re: 2001 sentra 2.0
removed or adjusted? well, you could advance the timing but then you would have to run premium gas and without a dyno theres no way to know how much power you gain. and if you advance it too much you could damage your motor. you could also ummmm thats about it. power costs money. cars are not like video games. taking short cuts usually ends up breaking things.

Re: 2001 sentra 2.0
I didnt know if maybe something in my muffler was restrictricting my exhaust and cutting down on horsepower, because i know some older cars i have had i was able to grind it out and noticed a nice gain of power. I have a Module chip on the way to me and also an intake. Anyother suggestions other than a supper charger or Turbo to help out also.

Re: 2001 sentra 2.0
first of all, dont 'grind out' your muffler or any part of your exhaust. its pointless. the stock piping is just as restrictive and it will only make your car sound like a pissed off vibrator.
if you actually put on a high quality exhaust(from the catalytic back including the muffler) you could gain a bit of power, also some headers, cams, intake, and return that "Module chip" (wtf is that) and get a real tune or piggyback. but since you dont sound like you could tune a piggyback, just call jim wolf technology. the 2.0 liter motor is ...ok at making hp with bolt ons. you wont notice a ton of power, that motor's biggest ability is to handle turbo power. you will spend much more in the long run trying to make power without a turbo.

Re: 2001 sentra 2.0
2001 sentra se's dont really have too much, unless you really want to spend the money.
there are motor mount inserts, but thats it. no full polyurathane mounts if you are lucky, find a place racing cai or a hotshot intake. otherwise, you can find the aem one pretty easily. header wise, there really isnt anything unless you want to do ebay or ssac. hotshot is out of buisness, and the ssac puts the stillen header to shame. cat back wise, you can fit any spec-v exhaust to it, but you have to get new hangers and cut the exhaust down 2 inches iirc. there is only one set of cams out for the roller rocker sr20de, and that is the jwt s3rs. they run around 600 new. a mild cam, but thats all thats available off shelf. match the jwt springs with the cams and you can reach redline of 7400 instead of 6850. the springs run about 270new. all suspention pieces from the spec-v swap over, as they are all interchangeable. wheels, good luck. there arent that much of a choice, as we have the 4x114.3 instead of the universal 4 lug. basically, if you want to make power, you have to turbo the car. all motor power is going to cost an arm and a leg if you want to be able to compete with the sr20ve guys. there is only a handful of people that have all motor sr20de's in the 200whp range. thats big money. pieced together stroker kit, bored block, etc. runs quite a bit of change.
