How NOT to sell on ebay

This is the most ridiculous seller I have ever seen. Other than the title, not one word about what he is selling. Just a lot of demands. Apparently there are 3 idiots that wake up every day. I found one of them.

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

Well...in all fairness what's more to say..?
He tells us what is for sale in the title. That to me is all you really need to know.

And I'm not sure if you've ever sold on ebay or not but you almost
have to list like that to protect yourself from 50 people trying to get something for nothing.

I agree with him for boycotting Paypal. And I don't see anything wrong with how he lists...that's just me though.
He even offers 100% refund!

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

The seller would certainly generate more interest with a photo and at least a rudimentary description of what's included in the transkit before the long list of demands. Very demanding for a seller with zero feedback. I wouldn't bid regardless of price simply because he seems like a dickhead.

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

A month ago I sold 12 items and I have had over 500 transactions, but I am more of a buyer, and as a buyer, this totally turned me off. You get one FREE image so if you have a listing and don't include a picture, your wasting your time and money. Sorry but my listings never had threats of payment due dates or any other type of threat. All were paid for in a timely manner and were just fine. How could this guy have a clue to protect himself from anything with a ZERO feedback?????

I never had a paypal problem either but ebay owns them and they are trying to push towards making it the only acceptable payment which is a conflict of interest in my opinion but if you want horror stories of paypal go to paypalsucks.com you will get your fill of some shady activity by paypal.

Kurzheck is spot on!

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

I've seen a fair share of bizzare sellers on eBay.
This one seems like he is a modeller that needs to sell one of the transkits he has as he won't build it.
Being his first sold item it is easy to understand that he is a bit affraid thus the list of demands.
As for not using PayPal, there are several pro and contra arguements.
Being a one time seller he would lose 4% of the money to PayPal.
Given that he is only selling to UK (and I do have a problem with this part of his demands) it shouldn't be a huge expense to make a bank transfer from UK to UK.

I personally prefer bank transfers from buyers from the same country. However I accept PayPal from those outside of the EU.

He could have provided a picture given that it is for free.

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

I sell quite regularly on ebay, 15-30 items per month.

He's pretty smart if you ask me, he's gonna get paid in UK pounds, he's NOT going to have to deal with customs, and he's not going to get scammed by using Paypal.

Him having zero feedback means nothing. In fact I'm sure he's an experienced
seller otherwise he wouldn't have come up with those demands.

Anyone interested in this item knows what it is, what it looks like and what it does, why would you still need a picture?

Paypal does NOT protect you from chargebacks!!!! And their fees are ridiculous!

There are no customs forms for the EU. And he is payed UK pounds no matter where he sells the item.
Selling only to UK reduces the number of potential buyers at least 10 times!

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

Not to mention that if you don't accept PayPal, the amount of bids your item receives decrease dramatically. It's worth the 4% charge imo.

Well if he's such a smart experienced seller, then he should know a FREE pic does wonders for your listing. If he can afford LARGE BOLD demands, he certainly can afford a FREE pic. I totally understand that with any opinion or view there are two sides and there will be people on both, but this is ridiculous. I never bid on auctions with no photo.

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

I think he's an experienced seller that had his account suspended by eBay.

These guys that lists all these demands I stay away from.

Grundski is right. This guy is asking for trouble. With all his warnings and "safeguards," he's not "protecting himself" from anything except bids. I never, ever buy from obnoxious sellers like that guy.

He obviously knows nothing about retail sales. What successful business scolds and rejects potential buyers like that?

Re: How NOT to sell on ebay

Retail sales..???OMG!

The poor guy is trying to unload 1, count that, one decal set that
anyone who needs it is going to know EXACTLY what they are getting.
It's not like he's trying to sell knocked off 360's from HK!

I say lay off him. He is certainly not a business and never purported to be one. He certainly doesn't deserve to be called such an idiot.

New ebay sellers do not list like that, they just don't have the experience to
come up with those demands. And BTW he is not suspended from ebay, as the auction is still active.

What the others meant that the seller probably had another account and it was banned/ suspended and thus created this one...
I personally would not buy from him, reasons:
no paypal.
No pic.
No discription (at least I need to know what condition the kit is it and what the decals are like, if they're yellowed etc...)
Way too cocky for a person with an acc that only has erm... 0 trade records and only been registered for less than a fortnight.
"A 100% refund is offered if the item is unsuitable or you feel it is not as advertised." <- this just kills me... where the !#$! is the advertisement????
