Exclamation Ford LTD II

Just wondered if anyone knows of a model of a 78 Ford LTD? Been looking but no luck. Curious if anyone has ever seen one?

Thanks.
Bruce

Re: Ford LTD II

about the only thing I can suggest is places like Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland, or some of the other large name resin casters. I personally have never seen a LTD kit other than possibly a police car.

Re: Ford LTD II

IIRC there is someone currently doing a master for a late 70's LTD. that will be done in resin as a trans kit for the AMT 70 Galaxie. but I have no idea who's going to be producing it and when it will be available

That's a '71/'72; there's a guy who has built a couple 4 doors and threatened to have the lower-line 4 door cast. All American did a '77 or '78 full size 4 door LTD or Galaxie; for a police car, and they're pretty much unobtanium now. Another guy who builds a number of masters for Modelhaus is working on a '71 LTD 2 door. LTD II is a mid-size car. If anyone ever makes one, they also need to do the similar TBird and Cougar. Very kitschy designs

Re: Ford LTD II

The '77-79 LTD II, '74-76 Elite and '77-79 T-bird are all based on the same mid-size (for the day..) chassis as the 1972-76 Torino/Gran Torino.

None of the 1st three have every been kitted by any major manf. For what it's worth a good starting point if you can come up with one would be a Johan '72 Torino 2-door like this:

Actually a Police car is what I need it for. I want to do the cop car from the First Blood movie (original movie). And from what I can tell from the screen shots I found, it looks like a 78 LTD II.

Wonder if one of those old Johan kits of a cop car might be an LTD... I will search for that too on ebay.

Thanks a lot guys for the replies . Just thought a model of the police car would go well with a couple of other collectables I have from the film.

Re: Ford LTD II

FYI - The 4 door Johan police car kit is a '68 Plymouth Fury:

Re: Ford LTD II

There's this kit from AMT, but it's a 1970, not a 1978.
