Question camaro Z28 vs. 350Z

I made a bet with a few friends that the 350Z, with mods added, would be able to beat a '94 camaro Z28 also with mods added. I'm kind of new at this and I'm not sure if I stand a chance at beating him???:smoker2:

if they are the same mods i believe the camaro will easily win. i've owned both types of cars and the camaro 6 speed was way faster.

From what I'm hearing, you don't get the max output on a 350Z until after you've broken it in. Drive 1500 miles or so before you start expecting it's top performance.

There are only a couple of modifications available for the 350 as of yet. So, I don't think you can heavily modify the engine. As for the race I would have to go with the Z! With the modifications available the Z put's out around 297hp! Not bad for intake & exhaust. I'm just waiting a couple years for a supercharged or turbo version! Then I will own one...I guess I'll just have to put up with the 95'!

the camaroe will win in my opinion, i've moded my na z to right under 300 ponies and my brother owns a 95 z28 with filter and hurst shifter but besides that stock, and we raced up a the mountain we live on back home, and i blew him away in the turns up the bottom part but as soon as we got to were that v8 could breath it was all over with, so i believe the 350z would not win

Well if you were racing up a mountain, I think the torque is where he beat you. He had the V8 vs. the 6, Deffinatly more torque.

true but even if we raced on the interstate, the thing will pin the needle at 150 with only 4k rpm, so who knows i guess i'd have to see a 350z in action, but from what i hear they arent that fast

i've raced modded 02' Mustang GT's and beaten them, and all i modded was: a jwt ecu upgrade, custom 3.25" exhaust, HKS boost controller, and a cheap front mount intercooler (~335hp) and i toasted him, i also raced my friends 97 Cobra, and i had him...before he hit the Nitrous LoL!

That shit is crazy; especially after he uses it, and there's still fumes in his pipes, and he revvs it (about 6k rpm) and flames will shoot out of his exhaust way cool

My friend beat a stock Z28 in his dads stock 300zx (naturally aspirated). I thought his Z was gonna get stompede...but it actually won (even though my friends dad has a purple Z lol) I think it depends how far thier racing, 1/8...1/4....200 miles, ya know?! i think the Z would have it at a 1/4 mi or more, but the torque on the camaro would probably have the Wholeshot

um he didnt beat a stock z28 with a stock n/a 300zx, unless ya'll were racing and he didnt know it, sorry, the only time that would happen would be on an extremely windy road, anywhere else the Z would have got destroyed, i know cause my brother has a stock z28, and i have a n/a 300zx with some mods and i dont have a chance except in the turns.

Lightbulb Hello from the darkside

Sweet car, chances are you will lose though. Lt1s are choked by the stock intake and exhaust, when you open those up they turn into very different beasts(I should know I have a 93 z28). Headers alone have been known to add 40hp!!! There is no way a na 300zx would beat a z28 it was probably a v6 camaro. Good luck

Hey Gradyman25, race him from a roll and see how good of a race it is.

Maybe 40 ro 50 mph and downshift into 2nd.

Lt1pwr, i agree totally with you, and Scottie, i have raced him from a role, everywhere from 40mph-100mph, i dont do that bad, but the point is i couldnt beat him unless i had some more mods on my car so a stock 300z would deffinately not have a chance.
