beating a mustang

i raced a friend on the way to work last week. she(yes she) has a big'ol truck. its a 97 f150 v8triton. we started off the line even, hers is heavy and mine is slow. i accelerated a little faster, but by 3rd i was gone. anyways, her bf has a mid90's stock v6 mustang and she wants him to take her to work so i can race him. would i even have a shot? im assuming i wouldnt have a chance, but i figured id ask anyways.

auto or manual? if it is an auto, it is REALLY slow. but if it is manu, then its jus slow. i think it'll be close, but hey, give it a shot. all in fun rite?

im a/t, im not sure what he has, i never talk to him. in fact he doesnt even like me cause she's always mentioning me and i'd take her too if i didnt have a gf already.

i just have the standard i/h/e and a highflow cat. not much really worth doing to an old motor. im assuming he'd have 200hp at most, but be heavier. i think id have more confidence if i had stick, but thatll come in time

its a muffler, with a new stock size rear section. when i went to have the muffler welded on it was all rusted so i had them put a new pipe in. i didnt worry about getting a wider size because that would just hurt my lowend.

sorri, but if ur an auto, no chance. with those little mods, then its not gonna matter at all. u could race him for fun, but i'd say if pride were at stake, stay away.

Are you V-6 or I-4, because mustang V-6's are slowwwwwwww..... You could take him in a V-6.

V6's werent made for the 4th gen accords. autos would be good if u had like 400hp. but since ur car is lightly modiefied a stick would be better.

Well if you want to know how much hp the mustang has it has 150 but it weighs less than 3100 which is not much more than an accord. i have raced one with my accord...i have a 96 prelude f22 with a full unorthodox racing pully set with intake, exhaust and i didnt beat him by all that much and my car is a standard. i would agree with some of the other posts if it is just for fun go for it but if u are worried about pride then i would not go for it. it is up to u.

V6 mustangs are slow for real. i beat my friends and he has K&N filter and dual flowmaster exaust, this was at the drag strip tho. and we are both automatic. the funny part is that was before i even had any mods on my accord, i could really kick his ass hard now.

Why not give it a try? No harm in losing a friendly race. You might surprise yourself.
