Sparkplugs?

Hey, I just thought of something, out of all the mods I have, I never changed my sparkplugs. Which are the best Sparkplugs for a 95 Max?

Most of the plugs tend to melt... The NGK platinum are the best ones for the maxima and other Nissan make cars. There are two types of NGK spark plugs. There is a "cold" & "hot" types. Cold type is ment mostly for winter time when you need a bigger spark to start the engine up. The hot is regular type for warm type of weather (thats if you live somewhere nice like California or Florida) otherwise cold type NGK is for all seasons. Hope this helps.

Not quite....

A cold plug is used if your boosted or running NOS. The spark is not as hot as the normal plug. If you ran a cold plug in the winter, it would probably foul out.

You run one step cooler in order to avoid detionation under boosted conditions. It has nothing to do with the climate your in.

It's either the stock plug, or one step cooler. You can't put a hotter plug in your car, it will cause detionation.

I haven't never really seen a test where one plug is going to necessarily give you any gains over the other, now certain plugs when used in conjunction with certain mods (ie turbo and hot plugs, whatever) will help in producing a hotter spark but not necessarily give you any true edge in increasing your 0-60/1/4mi times.

Besides every test I've seen done on certain plugs like Iridium or Denso has always been done with modded cars, so to say one plug gives you an advantage over another is not written in concrete.
