Honda CRX to beat firebird - news at 11

Whats up guys, first post here, was doing a search on honda CRX's and came across this site. Got this local moron who has convinced an entire HS full of equally moronic morons that his honda crx will romp on my 11 second bird. Are they serving cocaine for breakfast in school these days?

Ok i don't know the first thing about hondas, nor the crx, all i know (i think) is that its a DOHC inline 4 16v vtech. Its a 2nd generation, with i believe an exhaust, cough, A header... and maybe some intake crap. Now, wtf do these cars run? A friend told me 15 seconds out of the box or higher. I want a peice of this kid who shut his trap, just wondering what these things blown or juiced could run, just in case this cocky SOB has either. I love trash talkers don't you?

The usual, headers intake/gears. Went 12.3@112mph with just an air lid and nitto street slicks, bone stock, its bound to be in the 11s now with the headers/full exhaust/completed intake and 4.10s.

I found out he has a GSR MOtor/intake/exhaust wtf is that crap?

Alrighty, let's see here. A GSR motor is about the best for making a hybrid, which is what he's done. A CRX with a GSR motor will be fast due to the motor being in a lighter car than it was designed for. With I/H/E, I still don't see how he'll beat a low 12, high 11 bird without a shot of nitrous or a turbo, perhaps both. Regardsless of the car, honda engines stock generally don't get out of the low 15's, high 14's unless it's with an awesome driver. I say race him and get it over with. I doubt you should have any problems with him, if what you've been told is true.

The CRX is just about the lightest body he can start with. A car that light with a GSR motor could possibly run low 14s. How did you pull off 12.3 with just an airbox lid and drag radials? Stock Ls1s generally run mid 13s stock, with the exception of proffesional drivers with the right conditions. All of that aside, you should still hand him his ass pretty handily unless he is packing a LOT more than you have posted i.e. Big turbo and Nitrous
Copperhed keep in mind not all of us are like that.

umm...best?

Ok....not the best. The Prelude motor is the best with 200hp and 160lb/ft of torque. Then of course the S2000 motor with 240hp. But I doubt he has either so. (especially the S2000 b/c no one can swap those yet b/c it is a waste) But you have to be careful if he has the interior stripped and it's blown he can probably get about 12's out of it. I doubt he has either of those also. You should be alright. And the GS-R motor has ABSOLUTELY NO TORQUE WHATSOEVER. I think it is crap much like the Civic Si but that's me (a prelude driver) and I am bias. I would just tell him to go to hell and stick my penis in his ear.

Alan

P.S. I'm joining the darkside details in another post.

you say the prelude motor is the best swap for a CRX? In a car that light, a motor that heavy would cause severe handling and suspension problems. Maybe this kid wants some sort of driveability, since most high school kids cant afford a track only car aside from their daily driver.
Also what exactly is a prelude SS? i think you mean SH, which in all actuality is slower than a base prelude. You think preludes are that far above my car? Ive actually beaten more of the last gen ludes than ive lost to, and my car is basically stock. look at the pot calling the kettle black. At least i have no delusions of grandeur about my car. I KNOW my car isnt fast, but you dont see me going around like "Ha that car is crap but thats just me im a biased SI driver" Do you know how stupid you sound? this was an intelligent thread until you showed up. wow you run 15s somebody pinch me i feel faint

please think before you post

There is a local shop here called beeyond engineering.

they have several all motor civic hatchbacks with prelude engines. They run high 11's N/A. Low 11's if they spray.

.

And those prelude engines in the civics are most likely modified quite a bit as well.

Kidrocket btw he said he changed the gears as well, what is it anyways 4.10?

Just kick his ass you don't have anything to be afraid of. Most high school kids don't have enough driving experience and money to make there car as fast as your Firebird.

Wait...did I say I wanted your opinion? Nope. Ok #1 I never said anything about the Civic Si...although it does suck big donkey nutz. #2 I never stated a 1/4 mile time to my knowledge. #3 The SS stands for Sport Shift....if you bothered to read the Prelude section you would find i am not the only one with that title. #4 I think that I contributed some useful information. #5 In one week to the day I will be driving a '94 Trans Am...so I think you can go to hell.

The Civic Si is a torqueless wonder. As in it is a wonder people actually bought them. And the new Si is "even better". Oh, and another thing. I never said my car was fast. It is stock and it is temporary. I am driving it between my old Prelude and my Trans Am. I think you need to just ask questions from now on.

Now....If we could get back on topic and offf of how "fast" your Civic is.

Have a good day.

Alan

P.S. - If you ahve any further comments...e-mail me. Don't waste more space than we already have. Thanks.

noob if you could read, youd know that i said my car wasnt fast.
Basically i was making a comment about your stupid additions to this thread.

#1 you did say something about my car. i believe your words were,"i think it is crap much like the civic Si"

#2 i never said you did state a 1/4 mile time. 15s are the average for a stock lude

#3 I dont bother to read the prelude section as it is full of pretentious assholes

#4 Yeah lets give the kid a motor that will fuck his handling and suspension. useful info there. "stick my penis in his ear" youre right that was very intelligent

#5 I know my car isnt fast, but i make no claims either. And for the record, as fast cars go, a 94 T/A isnt shit either so i wouldnt use that as an "im way better than you" point. its a trailerpark car. And yes i know it would hand me my ass, but i wouldnt be caught dead driving it

What are you talking about when you say back on topic and off how fast my civic is? Did i ever claim that? In fact i believe it was the exact opposite.

i have better things to do than argue with some newb and noone wants to read it anyway, so i refuse to dignify any more mindless drivel with response
