Unhappy Printer woe, please help

I tried to scan in my Testarossa instrument dials in the hope of printing out a white faced one. It was ok on the scanner editing software, but when i print it out it was very sparsely dotted, the numbers and lines on the tacho and speedo are also not visible.
Please help.

What resolution did you scan at(how many dots per inch)Also you may have to use a graphics program and adjust the brightness and contrast to make it clear and legible.

It was scanned at 1200dpi, max for my scanner. My printer setting was set to the best quality possible.
