Yokohama Parada Spec 2
Has anyone had any experience with these tires? Do they last longer than other low profile tires? How much more do they cost? From what I've read about them, they are the tire for me. They look nice and have an aggressive tread. But they aren't as sticky as they look. This way they last longer, being harder. SportCompactCar said they are a good show tire that performs well but isn't a racing tire. Is my thinking correct on this?

I don't have any experience with these tires, but a friend of mine had them and he was really happy with them. I'd trust just about anything Sport Compact Car had to say, from my experience reading their mag there almost always right on with what they say.

I'm not going to race them. I need to know if they will last longer.

just check tirerack, they have all the ratings. if you want to stay with yoko's, there are some with higher treadwear, but im sure you'll give up a little traction.

By the way,Dinzdale40, I have bought all my tires from WhalenTire.com, and haven't had any probs yet, not to mention they were cheaper than any other tire shop i went to. I paid about $540 for a set of 4 (215/35-18) but like i said, this was right when they first came out so the price was a little lower than a month down the road.

I looked on Whalentires.com and couldn't find them for my car in the 17". I remember seeing these tires in many different sizes. Does this mean that Whalen doesn't carry these? I know a guy who can order them who won't tip me off too bad. He's cool so I don't care about a bit of cash.

I had done some searching and for decent prices it was whalen, and they charge $30 shipping on my set of 4 tires, it went from west coast to east coast and at my front door in about 2.5 days from order date....the other place i found that had about the same prices was discount Tire..since they have free shipping, they were charging ruffly $30 more...so it was a 50/50 chance.

yokohama doesnt make a "racing" tyre. they all suck equally on the track.
as for a street tyre, with the rep they have with the last parada and AV series, you'd be better equipped with skis when it rains. admit it. you're buying it only for the goofy lookin tread design. |

Actually, I drive in the rain a lot of the times, and i have found these spec II's by far better grip than say, FZ4's. yeah, the tread design is pretty cool, but try it before you bash it.
