Lumbar and bolster pumps itself
I have a 2002 yukon and for the last year, I have had problems with the power lumbar support and the power bolster slowly pumping itself up.I have had it the dealer five times but when they take it for a 15 minute test drive it does not do it.In a 4 1/2 hour trip, I have to drain it 3 times. It is still under warranty but neither the dealer or gm have any answers.Has any one come across this before?

I have a 2001 Yukon SLT w/ the same problem, sometimes they wont inflate themselves for weeks, other times I have to "drain" them 2 times a day, took it to the dealer, new parts are on order, been 2 weeks so far...no parts. I ll keep you up to date..........Mike

Re: Lumbar and bolster pumps itself
i don't know if this thread is considered dead or not... probably is...looks like people are still checking it out. Consider this just informational for anyone looking at it. i think i know why the dealer seems to be so sketchy to give you any answers on your seat issues.
Condition/Concern: Customer may comment that their seat lumbar support inflates by itself. The seat lumbar support is mechanical and does not use an air bladder. The root cause for this concern is that the driver inadvertently activates the power lumbar switch when entering the truck. Recommendation/Instructions: The cover for the switch was redesigned for the 2003 model year to prevent this from occurring. The new cover will not fit previous model years due to a change in seat design. There will not be a new service switch or cover change for the previous model years. |
