99 GT Sunroof

Hello all

I have a stock sunroof that has some broken pieces on the slider rails that that wont allow the glass to move, the motor just clicks. this wont allow the window to seal properly, and it whistles while driving, which is very annoying!! Does anyone know if I cant get parts for this whithout going to the steelership and replacing the whole assembly? Any help whould be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to AF.

Probly not fixable without a new unit or at least removing the assembly. Which I wouldnt recomend unless you have a GM manual as it's a PITA to take out. Theirs a cable that pulls the window so yours probly is outta wack.

It will also leak in rain....

My 99GT is a leaker too
I thought I had mine sealed up good with silicone sealer,
but last night I got a lap full of rain water

Might be able to find a used sun roof in a salvage yard,
good luck on getting it apart

Do you know of anywhere I can get the assembly online, I hate having to go to dealerships! The weird thing about mine is that it doesn't leak water, not inside at least. I have to crack the window to calm down the whistle tho, This thing is going to put a nice dent in my pocket book while I'm on vacation, Getting ready to put on my third set of rotors, got another window regulator coming, Driverside #3, and have already done the LIM, oh ya and Fan Resistor, The GA norm! Luckily this thing is paid off.

Check Ebay, I dont know of any other places to get them.

I guess it does come in parts!
