Angry friend in distress...

My friend just put a d16z6 (1993) into his 1992 civic cx hatchback for 500. He bought the p28 or whatever computer that goes with it for 200. He bought a brand new distributor for 300. All the wires are hooked up except the Oxygen sensor. The engine cranks PERFECTLY. There's no spark however. He's checked the power in the distributor and all that bull, and it's all perfect! He bought brand new spark plugs and wires. They're the correct type. Can somebody please help me to help him??

PLEASE!

We're losing our minds over this!

THANK YOU.

take the cap off the distributor and see if the rotor is moving...

if it isnt then i would look at the timing belt...

otherwise theres gotta be a electrical problem..
..is the coil hooked up??
is there power to the coil??

you wont get any spark if any of these things are wrong.

hope this helps.

or if the coil is hooked up and stuff....the coil could be crap..

Turn it over and have the coil wire disconnected,,,and put a spark plug on the wire and see if it sparks...of course when it is grounded to the engine...other wise it wont spark..

and hold it in your hand at the same time. hahahahah...dont try that.,unless you want to be given a HUGE shock..

good luck on finding the prob

yeah alot of people dont realize that you have to ground the spark plug first for there to be spark.

did you ground the spark plug when checking for spark ? if you didnt ground it then there wouldnt be any spark

put the threads of the spark plug against the block then try and turn the car
