The long WIP is now over and the Jordan 191 is finally complete. If you missed the WIP, it can be found here.

Enjoy!

Wow it looks great Bill. You chose so well with the colours for the bodywork, they sit together on the model beautifully,it looks just right.I love the two shots of the cockpit where you can see the pattern of the carbon fibre. The textured seat looks really nice too.I've really enjoyed following your progress on this one.Congratulations on an excellent model.

P.S and at least the engine cover fits unlike my McLaren,Well done.

I too have enjoyed following your build and I think that you have done a great job on the 191. I love the way the front suspension looks and the cockpit is very well detailed.
I'm wondering... no final engine shots? are those just for the WIP?
Congrats again!

With all of your clean building skills you make a great model....but I must ask why you haven't taken the time to learn paint polishing. Learning that process would certainly take your models to another level.

You put a lot of realism into your detailing, glossy paint is realism too.

Hi guys,

First, thanks for all your kind words.

Once the rear cowl was on, it was staying on It isn't glued, but it is firmly in place and then the mirrors were attached (again not glued) so, taking new photos of the engine was not on the cards. Apart from some additional wiring for the E boxes, the engine bay looks exactly the same. They were in the WIP, so I thought it wasn't necessary to repost them, although, I am coming around to the opinion that they should be posted here too for people who havent been following my WIP thread.

Hi Veyron, Excellent observation. The answer is that I only really got the confidence and skills for polishing with this build. I have tried polishing in the past and removed paint, so I just used the Tamiya polishing compounds on the front and rear wings. This, unfortunately, did not give a shine or remove all the orange peel. I put 4 coats of clear on the rear cowling and went to work on it with the Micromesh and the results were fantastic... however, I then had a dillema... did I really want only a single polished section to the car... the answer was no. So, all I can say is watch my Tyrrell Yamaha 023 thread for the shiniest bodywork you've seen... probably

Kind regards,
Bill

Superb detailing. Once you get the polished paintwork down pat your modelling will be scary!
