Clutch Installation *need help*
Okay, My throw out bearing is going bad on my 90 Si, And I checked around for prices and such on the installation. Well, its going to be $250+and I can't really afford it. How hard is it to install the clutch assembly youself? What tools would I need to do it? Please help?

installing the clutch assembly is pretty much cake, its getting the tranny out of the way thats a pain in the ass, it isnt too bad though.
for the clutch, youre gonna need a 12 point 10mm socket, to get those bolts off. have 10,12,14, and 17 mm wrench/sockets available to get the tranny out. How much experience do you have working on your car? |

I don't have that much experinence. Although, I do know quite a bit about engines and cars in general. Someone told me that I would need a transmission jack and a clutch key, where would I get these at?

Since everyone is on the subject of throwout bearings, i wanted to ask what can happen if the bearing goes completely bad? the reason i ask this is because i had a squeaking sound in my car that stopped when the clutch pedal was lightly touched and some mechanics told me it was a throwout bearing. I ended up having the clutch replaced but it still seems to make that squeak when im not touching the clutch. Can anyone tell me what could cause the bearing to start to go bad. any input would be a great help.
