DTC code problem
Greetings.
I own a 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula-1. I am failing emmissions due to a DTC P1661 code. I looked up the code and see that it is a Mil low error but cannot find a fix for it. Is it just a burnt out bulb for the check engine display or something else? Help would be most appriciated. |

Re: DTC code problem
I think that means your check engine light bulb is burnt out. Its a brand-specific code that doesn't always show up in the standard OBD2 list.

Re: DTC code problem
During the emissions test they have to verify that the light is functioning. If its not functioning you can't pass.
