Re: Cost
your question is far too broad.
first, tell us the car in mind, then the power, wieght, abilities, acceleration etc... what you've done is like saying "how much does it cost to make a car fast?" it depends on what car you start with, what power/torque you want it to make, what acceleration you want (either 0-60 or 0-400m) handling and speed in corners etc... if you narrow it down we can help.

Re: Cost
It requires vinyl graphics, bad scripts, and horrable actors.

Re: Cost
well it would be an 2000 acura integra, and id want the horsepower at like 450, ardoun there, along with all the body kits + neon lights and interior things like seats, shift knob and steering wheel. no audio mods though and a new spoiler/hood, and no NOS either

Re: Cost
on the engine it'll cost you a few dozen grand, for the crappy visual crap it'll cost you whatever you'd like, i don't know, i don't look into the price of neons and crap.
just to get the engine up to 450hp you'll have to turbocharge it, that'll be at least 5k, get forged internals, i dunno how much that is but i'm guessing 3-4k, you'll have to upgrade the fuel system, exhaust system, intake manifold, ignition, that'll be at least 2k, you'll have to beef up your tranny, another few k. better wheels and tires to actually be able to hook up, a few grand, suspension, a few grand. there's more but it's late and i have no intention on continuing. these are just really really rough estimates but it's probably more than you can afford right now, deffinitly more than you can do on your own, meaning you'll have to get either a friend to help you (as in a friend who knows alot about this kind of stuff and has lots of experience) or a mechanic/speed shop which will add alot of money in service charges. i can't give you a real estimate because i don't know the cost of alot of these things (haven't even modified my car other than some velcro to hold up my mp3 player so i haven't shopped. i'll start shopping when i have money) and it doesn't matter because you won't actually do any of these things. i'd suggest you learn about how everything works before even thinking of jumping into a project like this.... or any project at all, no point doing stuff without knowing how it'll affect your car or if it will at all. oh yeah, and it's called nitrous oxide (nitrous for short if you'd like) NOS is a company (nitrous oxide systems) that makes nitrous oxide systems.

Re: Cost
Even with all that stuff like beef said, 450HP through the front wheels is really pushing the boundries, and if it could be done, it most likely won't be street legal.
Btw, the actual cars in FF weren't really 500 HP tuned cars, they were just stock civics & whatnot with a lot of body kits and neons. So if you want a real FF car don't even worry about the engine, just stick to visual modifications - that'll only run you a couple thousand. |

Quote:
"The world of 'the Fast and the Furious' exists beyond physics"? or "They would lie about what can actually be done practically"? (gasps in shock and horror...then collapses on the floor laughing) they do their nifty CG tricks, and have their million dollar car budget (to do with as they please), to make a sweet movie to sell tickets. If they were simply trying to inspire the youth of america to become mechanics, or tune up their cars, there wouldn't be all the chicks and drama. And there'd be a hint more realism: "Not a pervasive element in today's modern American cinematic vision." I will say though, it was pretty "inspiring" to see an RB26DETT stuffed under the hood of that Mustang.

Re: Cost
I had to laugh...
Most of the cars for FF2 and FF3 were built at a place just up the street from me in Burbank. I had been in there a few times looking for work, but it just didn't seem like my kinda thing, but on more than one occasion I was given the "grand tour" of the things they were doing. To be honest, I felt a little bad for the guys. Take one completely legitimate auto/movie customizing company; EASILY on par with the finest custom shops anywhere, give them a movie contract, then tell them they are going to fit "incredible hulk" fists on the side of a sport compact for a movie subtitled "Tokyo Drift." I could tell that the owner was trying to be proud of their big movie contract, but ashamed of the content sensing I was a real car guy. I reciprocated in kind: I told him about all of my days as an extra on sets like Charlie's Angles and Freaky Friday, as well as such short-lived shows as 10-8 and Wanda at Large. He understood exactly what I was saying. The work they did was incredible and very respectable, but I could tell there was a bit of embarrasment happening.

Re: Cost
there's video on streetfire of a genuine FF2 car at the drag strip. It ran a 20 second 1/4 mile.
Which was kinda amusing....since their "10 second" drag races in the movie, lasted well over 20 seconds ![]() There is no doubt there is honest to god 450hp FWD cars on the road. But they have big money sunk into them. As for the body work.....anyone can bolt on that stuff. If you want it to look really good, it'll cost you, but be warned, the stuff breaks easily, and with the car lowered, it only makes it more likely to break. Nothing like spending $5K on your car and then breaking all that fancy fiberglass 2 weeks later.
